Electrical takeoffs are mostly counting: every power point, switch and light on every floor, plus the cable to join them up. TrueScale counts by clicking a symbol on the plan and measures cable runs along the route you draw, so the numbers and the marked up plan come from the same place.
What electricians mark up and measure
- Power points, light switches, downlights, smoke alarms and data points, counted one click at a time with their own symbols, so a glance at the plan shows what has been counted and what has not.
- Cable runs, measured as lengths along the route you click, at the page scale.
- Anything else you price by the item or by the metre, with your own tools in the Tool Chest.
The electrical tool set
TrueScale comes with a starter electrical tool set in the Tool Chest. Every tool is an example to start from: rename it, change its colour, symbol, spec and rate, or build your own set and share it with your team. Each tool fills in the Markups List (subject, spec and rate), ready to total and price.
